Recipe Notes

  1. Adjust sweetness and spice: Start with 1–2 tsp honey and ½ tsp ginger, then tweak to taste. Some people prefer a stronger ginger flavor or more sweetness.
  2. Cold brew strength: This recipe uses homemade cold brew concentrated at ½ cup coffee to 2 cups water. If you prefer a stronger coffee flavor, increase the coffee grounds or reduce the water slightly.
  3. Milk options: Any milk works: dairy, oat, almond, or soy. Oat milk creates a naturally creamy texture that pairs well with ginger.
  4. Hot version: Skip ice and use espresso or strong brewed coffee. Gently heat the ginger-honey milk and whisk together for a cozy, warm latte.
  5. Batch prep: Make a larger batch of cold brew (e.g., 2 cups coffee + 8 cups water) and store in the fridge for up to 1 week, perfect for quick daily lattes.
  6. Ginger prep tip: Use fresh ginger for the brightest flavor. If using ground ginger, reduce slightly to avoid overpowering the latte.
  7. Garnish ideas: Candied ginger slices, honey drizzle, or a light sprinkle of cinnamon can make the latte look café-style and add a flavor twist.
  8. Optional caffeine-free variation: Use decaf coffee for the cold brew while keeping the honey-ginger flavor intact.
